Additionally, qualified students are afforded the opportunity to self-design independent studies. The school offers courses which are designed not only to prepare students for AP exams, but to exceed those criteria and expectations. While these curricula may not strictly adhere to the requirements of the College Board, students still sit for AP exams offered and administered on campus.
Support Services: The Emery/Weiner School’s counseling department provides comprehensive services to students 6 through 12. These services are designed to meet the needs of students in the following areas: academic, learning, social, emotional, college and career. The counseling department provides students with a personalized and student-centered approach through individual and group guidance.
Computer Capabilities:
Technology plays an integral role in many classes at Emery/Weiner. The school offers a 6th grade digital literacy course and a curriculum for technology integration in all core classes. The faculty participates in regular professional development focused on new ideas in educational technology. The school’s Technology Integration Specialist works with teachers to assist them in utilizing tools and resources that enhance their instruction and curriculum.
