Participate in the stewardship of God's creation. Place value on respect for students, teachers, and parents. Encourage and challenge student learning. Enhance the idea to live as a family in God's house. Emphasize treating everyone equally and with kindness. Challenge the students to reach the number one goal in life: to get to heaven.
School History: From the schools inception in 1859 to 1886, instruction at St. Mary School was by lay teachers. Fr. Schaffeld, the pastor at the time, engaged the Sisters of St. Joseph from Cleveland to staff the school and they remained until 1897 when the Sisters of Notre Dame assumed teaching duties. Our parish has been blessed with nearly 300 Notre Dame Sisters who have served St. Mary. St. Mary School is made up of three buildings, Guardian Angel, Marion and the St. Joseph Buildings with a separate hall that serves as a gym.
