Mission Statement:

In the spirit of the Gospel, we are committed to educate the whole person to lead and to serve; enlightening the mind, developing the body, touching the heart, and inspiring the soul.

Philosophy/Belief Statement: Our goal is to inspire students to think creatively, reason systematically, and work collaboratively. We provide a welcoming, challenging academic environment committed to instructional excellence and the individual needs of our students. Our strong academic foundation ensures success at college and beyond. St. Vincent-St. Mary High School brings the Spirit of Christ to all that we do. Our family atmosphere makes us a unique learning community.
School History: In 1972, St. Vincent (1906) and St. Mary (1897) High Schools merged to become St. Vincent-St. Mary High School. St. Vincent-St. Mary High School is a four-year, co-educational, college preparatory, Catholic high school. We have been an integral part of the Akron community for more than 100 years, providing quality education rooted in Catholic faith. More than 17,000 alumni are proud to be a part of our rich history. We are located in the heart of revitalized Akron, within walking distance of the Akron-Summit County Library, the newly-renovated Akron Art Museum, The University of Akron, and much more.
Programs and Services:

To meet the educational needs of all students, we offer a wide range of curricular levels: advanced placement, honors, college preparatory, and special needs. We are the only Catholic high school in the area to offer a full-service Special Education unit. Our faculty and staff work collaboratively with students each day to provide a core academic curriculum, which responds to the needs and personality of each student. We have five counselors on staff to assist students with social and emotional needs as well as career and college placement. St. Vincent-St. Mary has a comprehensive Campus Ministry program, offering retreats for all student grade levels, Sacramental and Liturgical celebrations, and several service/mission outreach opportunities.
