Type of Housing: Loft-style units with double, triple or quad occupancy.
Tuition: For 2016-17, per semester full-time student costs are as follows: $11,595 tuition, $385 academic facilities fee, $385 student activities fee and $50 registration fee. Part-time student costs per semester are as follows: $1,005 per credit, $255 academic facilities fee, $255 student activities fee and $50 registration fee. Housing per semester is $3,950 plus $350 one-time housing deposit, refundable at time of departure. Meal plans per semester are $2,050 for resident students and $350 for commuting students.
Financial Aid:

Approximately 90 percent of DCAD students receive some form of financial aid. This includes merit-based and need-based scholarships and grants; loan programs; and work-study opportunities. In addition, DCAD’s Co-Operative Education Program offers participating students the opportunity to “earn while learning” through paid internships between the first and second years of degree study.

Admissions Requirements: All applicants are invited to visit the College in person for a portfolio review, interview and tour of the creative campus. For the portfolio, prospective students should select 15 to 20 pieces of their best original artwork completed within the last two years. It is highly recommended that examples of drawing from direct observation be included. The balance of the portfolio can include works in other media and styles, such as pastel, pen and ink, watercolor, oil or acrylic paint and black and white or color photography. Those planning to include three-dimensional work such as sculpture or ceramics should package it carefully or provide slides or photographs of the pieces instead. Applicants also are encouraged to bring their sketchbooks.
