ADVANTAGES
TO GEOTHERMAL GROUND SOURCE HEATING/COOLING UPGRADE:
ENERGY SAVINGS – The most efficient heating/cooling system. Missouri Department of Natural Resources recognizes at 350% efficient.

WARRANTIES – Standardwarranty is 10 year for parts and 5 year for labor. This equates to a minimum maintenance of new units.
EQUIPMENT – Florida Heat Pump and Water Furnace units are undoubtedly the most efficient units ranging from 24 to 27 EER and a COP of 3.8 to 4.1 (Coefficient of performance in btu/h).
USES – Provide heating and cooling from the same unit to serve each classroom with separate controls. Can also provide hot water for water heaters and ice melt for sidewalks and parking lots as well as cooling for refrigeration units in the kitchen.
EXPECTATIONS – Providing loop holes in the ground vertically. Horizontally, or in ponds or lakes to maintain water temperature between 40 and 80°F. Water source units in the building can provide heating or cooling using a circulation pump.
PAYBACK -   It has been our experience thatproperly designed geothermal systems for schools and commercial office buildings typically have a payback of 3 to 6 years over conventional systems.
REBATES – Missouri Department of natural Resources has several programs directed to rebates and stimulus funds available for geothermal heating and cooling.
ADVANTAGES
TO LIGHTING UPGRADE:
ENERGY SAVINGS – You can save up to 35% of energy cost by replacing standard T12 lighting systems. T12 = 40watt bulbs, T8 = 32 watt bulbs, T5 = 25 watt bulbs
LOWER MAINTENANCE COSTS – Longer equipment life reduces both your maintenance and disposal costs. T8 lamps are rated from 18,000 to 30,000 hours – equivalent to 5 - 6 years in a typical office application – when matched with the correct ballast.
ENVIRONMENTAL BENEFITS – Interior lighting represents approximately 29% of the energy consumed in the commercial building each year. Lowering this percentage has the potential to reduce the emissions of carbon dioxide and other air pollutants generated during electricity production.
QUIET – T8s operate more quietly than T12s, eliminating the “hum” often associated with fluorescent lighting systems.

COOLING LOAD REDUCTIONS – Electronic ballasts consume fewer watts than magnetic ballasts. Lighting systems generate less heat, which reduces cooling loads.

REDUCED LAMP FLICKER – Electronic ballasts drive fluorescent lamps at 20 kilohertz (kHz), a frequency well beyond the visible range of flicker to the human eye, thus significantly reducing eye strain.
IMPROVED LIGHT – T8 lamps have a higher Color Rendering Index (CRI) than common T12 lamps. The CRI measures the ability of a light source to reproduce the colors of various objects being lit by the source.
REBATES – Many local utility companies offer rebates for every light fixture replaced.
