Experience Required:
Applicants must be between the ages of 21 and 50, have a Bachelor's degree (or above), be native English speakers or have proof of C1 English level or above, have at least basic Spanish language skills (we encourage all levels of Spanish to apply), and have an interest in serving in an educational environment (we will provide the methodology, you provide the inspiration and energy).
Travel Arrangements:
Participants must pay for their travel from their home country to Bogotá for the initial 2 week Orientation. Travel from Bogotá to placement cities is paid for by our patners in Colombia.

Visa Requirements:
Participants will apply for an electronic TP-1 visa a few weeks prior to arrival. Once at Orientation, our partners will aid in the process of pasting the visa into the passport, as well as getting the cédula - the Colombian ID card.
The visa process is managed by our partners in Colombia. You will receive instructions on how to either solicit the visa online or got to the nearest embassy around a month before the program.
Program Highlights:
This English teaching opportunity is a collaboration between Volunteers COLOMBIA, Heart for Change and Atlas Corps. It is a full-time teaching opportunity where native or near-native English speakers are taught the methodology to provide bilingual education in Colombia. Benefits include a living stipend, health insurance, teacher training, ongoing professional development, the ability to gain first-hand experience in international development and engagement in the global Atlas Corps network of over 500 leaders from 90+ countries!
Program History:
Atlas Corps is a global network of nonprofit leaders and organizations that promotes innovation, cooperation, and solutions to address the world's 21st century challenges. Atlas Corps engages leaders committed to the nonprofit sector in 6 to 18 month, professional fellowships at organizations (like Ashoka, Peace Corps, and Nike Foundation) to learn best practices, build organizational capacity, and return home to create a network of global changemakers. Our network of Fellows includes more than 500 nonprofit leaders from 79 countries and 200 Host Organizations. Recently, we launched a State Department partnership as part of a White House Initiative to engage 100 civil society leaders in our Fellowship - Emerging Global Leaders Initiative-Atlas Corps Fellowship.
