Mission Statement:
Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walks are the largest network of breast cancer awareness events in the nation, uniting nearly 300 communities with a shared determination to finish the fight against breast cancer. Passionate walk participants raise critical funds that enable the American Cancer Society to fund groundbreaking breast cancer research; provide free, comprehensive information and support to those touched by breast cancer; and help people take steps to reduce their breast cancer risk or find it early when it is most treatable.

Additional Information:
Please email WorcesterMAStrides@cancer.org with your name, phone number and group/school affiliation (if applicable). For large groups, please choose one person to be the main contact but provide a list of all volunteers with name, phone number and email address.
Please indicate your top 3 choices for volunteer spots. The spots are filled on a first come first serve basis. Large groups/teams may be asked to divide into two groups depending on the number of volunteers.
Pre-Event: Help distribute flyers and posters to local businesses in September to promote the event
Parking: Help direct participants to available parking locations
Survivor Tent: Help with survivor check-in and distribute t-shirts to our amazing survivors.
Start Line: Cheer on the walkers as they start the walk! Note: After the last group has left the starting line, we ask that you move over to the finish line.
Hope Lodge: Hand out water to walkers along the route and get a chance to meet some of the Hope Lodge residents!
Water Stop: Hand out water to walkers along the route.
Route Monitors: These volunteers help direct the flow of walkers around the 2.5 mile route, as well as cheer them on!
Finish Line: Congratulate and cheer for the walkers as they cross the finish line. Bring your favorite noisemaker!
Snack Table: Help distribute snacks to the walkers after they complete the walk.
Break down: Help us wrap-up the event by breaking down tables, chairs and consolidate materials for easy packing.
