Setting:
Our school age program includes the After School Program, Girls Group, and Basketball during the school year and the Summer Day Camp program during the summer months. The After School Program is geared towards helping students with homework and academic skills through tutoring and mentoring by our staff. The Summer Day Camp program gives students a fun summer alternative with a full day program filled with field trips, activity classes, and recreation time that fosters positive relationships and opportunities for lasting memories. Girls Group is a drop in program for girls ages 10 through 16. The mission of the Girls Night Program is to see young girls mentored and cared for in a safe community centered environment. In this program girls will have a chance to experience and grow in Christ through mentorship and various activities.
History:
The Salvation Army, an international movement is an evangelical part of the universal Christian church. Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.
Activities:
After School Program activities include homework help, computer lab, open gym time, arts & craft time, movie days and more.
The Summer Day Camp Program activities include field trips, open gym time, arts & crafts, book club, computer lab, science lab, math wizards, and more.
Girls Group activities have included Spa Night, Taste of Asia, Dance Off, Tea Party, The Sal Winter Carnival, Roller Skating, Movie Night, Craft Night, amongst other great themed nights.
Field Trip Destinations: 2014 Summer Camp Field Trip destinations include (but not limited to): Water parks, The Works Museum, The Blast, Movies, Skating, MN Sea Life Aquarium, Reptile and Amphibian Discovery Zoo in Owatonna, MN Lynx game, The Raptor Center, Jonathon Paddleford, and Valley Fair!!
Program Information:
Our After School Program provides the chilldren with a nutritious snack and dinner. Our Summer Camp provides the children with Breakfast, Lunch and an afternoon snack.
The After School Program will be open for specific school release days. A schedule of these dates will be distributed at the beginning of the school year. The Salvation Army follows the ISD 622, 623, and 624 school calendars. You will need to give one week notice in advance if your child is to attend on these days. Billing will be on a daily rate. Christmas break and Spring break will be on the weekly rate. (See Fees, below)
Before and After Care: Care will be provided from 7:30 AM - 8:00 AM and 4:00 - 5:00 PM with an additional charge of $5 per 30 minutes of care. Fees for Before & After care must be paid prior to care being given. A late fee will be charged for any child being picked up after our official closing time of 5:00 PM. The charge incurred will be $1 per child for every minute you are late and will be added to your normal tuition and reflected on your invoice statement. Any child not picked up by 6:00 PM will be turned over to the authorities as abandoned.

After School Daily Rate: $20/day (Non-School Days: $52/day)

Weekly Rate: $170/week (Christmas and Spring Break is paid at the weekly rate)

Scholarship / Sliding Scale:
Families that feel they are unable to pay the standard fees may complete a scholarship application if they meet certain criteria.
