Camp History: YMCA Camp Frank A. Day has been owned and operated by the West Suburban YMCA in Newton, MA since 1916. Located in East Brookfield, MA—just one hour west of Boston and easily accessible from I-90 or Route 84—the camp encompasses over 54 acres of natural woodlands. We offer a wide assortment of amenities including a private waterfront on Lake Quacumquasit, tennis courts, athletic fields, three basketball courts, an arts & crafts building, a helix climbing tower, modern yet rustic cabins, a rec center with covered stage, and an historic dining hall. The camp is perfect for large groups requiring split facilities, for retreats, family reunions, or team building adventures for schools and/or companies. We also boast a professional staff certified in CPR and First Aid and who embrace the values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.
Groups based in the Greater Boston area or interested in day rentals may also consider Camp Chickami. Established in Wayland, MA in 1955, Camp Chickami has operated as a summer day camp counterpart to Camp Frank A. Day for more than 60 years. Our camp boasts athletic fields, a pavilion, two sizable buildings, an arts and crafts center, nature trails, an archery range, high and low ropes courses, and a pool to while away the summer days. Camp Chickami offers day rentals for retreats, team building, athletic events, reunions, and other needs.
