Mission Statement:
Please note: the Mission Statement and Crest are under revision, but currently as written by the founding families:
Transforming the world one child at a time by growing lifelong learners and next generation leaders to serve and glorify Him.
Philosophy/Belief Statement:
Our mission is in our name, Grace Academy: sharing God's grace to us with His children. Our school preserves and honors the past, as we prepare children for their futures, on a path lit with God's Word.
The past, after all, is a roadmap of God's providence. Grace opens young minds to that map as an endless source of wonder, alive in primary documents, literature, fine arts, music, drama, and poetry.
Because learning, true learning, is an act of love--an ever-widening road to wisdom. We desire to create lifelong learners who are passionate about learning!
Educare, from Latin, implies "bringing forth". With Christ at the center, Grace is 'educare'--a training through His love of every child's best for now, for a lifetime, and for eternity.
Grace Academy of North Texas desires to educate and graduate young men and women who seek God's wisdom and will in all facets of their lives. We desire to accomplish this through immersion in God's Word; making Him the center of all aspects of each student's education.
We desire to provide excellence in our core curriculum as well as extra-curricular activities in order to develop every child's God-given gifts.
Grace Academy is committed to modeling and teaching servant leadership principles such as humility, compassion, and service as witnessed in the life of our Lord Jesus Christ. We desire to provide opportunities for each student regardless of socio-economic background.
Grace Academy seeks to prepare each student to discern, reason, and defend truth; confident in themselves as unique creations; confident in their ability to articulate the Word of God.
School History:
Five families decided to start Grace, came up with the logo and mission statement. They called Jody Capehart to serve as Head of School. Jody started other Christian and classical schools over the past 40 years and used her experience to put a curriculum in place, hire teachers, and conduct weekly Open Houses. The school opened with 53 students, doubled for the 2nd year in a larger facility, and then with additional classroom space filled to capacity again the 3rd year. With the addition of 4 portable classrooms for the 4th year, the school is at capacity.
The Lord blessed Grace Academy with 50 acres very close to our current location. The architectural renderings are complete and construction will begin this summer. We will move to our new campus for the 2016-17 school year.
We believe in parent participation as evidenced by our Parent Teacher Fellowship, parent classes, monthly family events, and many opportunities for parents to partner with teachers in the education of their children.
