Alfred University is located in the peaceful village of Alfred in Western New York State, where summer days are warm and nights are cool and comfortable. Surrounded by rolling hills and beautiful meadows and valleys, Alfred University is the perfect place to spend your summer enjoying learning more about your favorite subject and meeting other students who share your passion for learning!

The campus, a 6-hour drive from New York City, 2 hours from Buffalo and 1 1/4 hours from Rochester, is easily accessible by car or bus from all directions and is located just five miles south of Interstate 86. The nearest major airport is the Rochester International Airport (about 65 miles north). Transportation to and from that airport can be provided for an additional charge if we receive your request by the date indicated in your acceptance notification. After that date students must make their own arrangements with an airport limo service.

There are many activities going on throughout the summer with our summer academic and sports camps for high school students, our annual Most Arts Festival (click on the following link for more information: http://mostarts.alfred.edu/about.cfm). When open summer term students may use our Health & Wellness Fitness Center as well as our Olympic-size swimming pool.

Each summer we welcome hundreds of students from all over the country to our beautiful campus to participate in exciting academic institutes and sports camps. These programs provide young people with opportunities to learn more about their fields of interest, to sample life on a college campus, and to meet other students with similar interests and academic ability.

Our summer academic institutes are residential programs for rising 9th-12th graders. All are staffed by distinguished members of the University faculty. With Alfred University's excellence in teaching and commitment to offering quality programming, these institutes are among the most educational and fun collegiate summer academic programs in the country.

Our popular sports camps offer pre-college-aged athletes a great opportunity to advance their skills working with AU's award-winning head coaches and assistant coaches. Sports campers benefit from the many resources of our McLane Physical Education Center and Fields, and the Bromeley-Daggett Equestrian Center at Maris Cuneo Equine Park.

When not in class, students enjoy organized recreational activities as well as free time for relaxation. Out-of-class supervision is provided by our team of Head Camp Counselors (HCCs) and Camp Counselors (CCs), who are specially trained to serve as camp counselors, mentors and friends. Students stay in clean, students stay in clean residence halls and meals are served in the University dining hall. Living, dining and learning together, they have ample opportunity to get to know each other well and develop lasting friendships.
