One of the state’s oldest cities, Williamsburg is located in southern Kentucky, 185 miles south of Cincinnati, Ohio, and 70 miles north of Knoxville, Tennessee. Williamsburg is known for its beautiful homes and the hospitality of its people. The University of the Cumberlands campus is situated on three hills above the town and, about 1 mile from exit 11, is easily accessed from I-75. UC has a well-kept campus that blends stately old buildings with new ones and has a panoramic view of the surrounding mountains and the Cumberland River Valley, an area known throughout the country for its lovely waterfalls, forests, and lakes. Famed Cumberland Falls State Resort Park is just 20 minutes from campus.

More than forty clubs and organizations provide students with a wide variety of activities, including a debate team, theater, musical performance groups, academic societies, an FM radio station, a student newspaper, student government, Baptist Campus Ministries, Appalachian Ministries, Mountain Outreach, departmental clubs, and intramural sports. University of the Cumberlands is a member of the NAIA Division I Mid-South Conference and offers 26 sports for women and men.

Admissions Requirements:

The purpose of the admission process is to identify applicants who are likely to succeed academically at University of the Cumberlands and at the same time contribute positively to the campus community. In making admission decisions the University considers many factors, including high school records (including courses taken, grade trends, and rank in class), standardized test scores, extracurricular activities and honors, and personal contact with the student. In some cases, a teacher recommendation and an essay may be requested. Typically the University admits students with a 2.5 or better high school grade point average and a minimum score of 18 on the American College Test (ACT) or 840 on the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT). However, students with lower grade point averages or standardized test scores will be considered for admission conditionally.
