Company History:

When a child is struggling with reading, parents may experience a whole range of emotions, including helplessness, frustration and inadequacy.  I know firsthand the range of emotions a parent of a child with dyslexia can feel.  Both of my children had troubles reading when they were young.  When my own son experienced trouble learning to read and spell due to his dyslexia,  I wandered through a long journey of finding solutions and opportunities for him to succeed.  Being a teacher, the research came easy to me, but the programs did not.  The best program out there, the Orton-Gillingham method, required extensive and costly training and therefore only a handful of tutors and teachers were trained in this program. Feeling it was the right thing to do at the time, I invested in the costly training and the costly programs.  It did work.  Orton-Gillingham is amazing.  I have been teaching Orton-Gillingham now for  20 years.  Over the last few years I developed the PRIDE Reading Program.  I put this reading program together to help the millions of parents, tutors and teachers out there who are trying to help a child with dyslexia learn to read.  The PRIDE Reading Program can be used in a school setting but also as a dyslexia homeschool program.

Additional Information:

The PRIDE Reading Program meets all the criteria of the research-based Orton-Gillingham approach.  It is multisensory, structured, sequential and  cumulative. Auditory, tactile and visual components are utilized within every lesson.  The tutoring is meant to be one-on-one and the Teacher’s Guide is scripted out in a step by step easy to read and follow digital form.  It is, in my opinion,  the best dyslexia homeschool program out there!

The program is so easy to follow and utilize that anyone can teach it.  Parents, grandparents and tutors not trained in Orton-Gillingham can teach children with even severe dyslexia how to read.  The Student’s Workbook includes spelling paper, decodable reading passages, sentences and words,  fluency practices, games, graphic organizers and short progress assessments.  The program also includes sound cards, letter tiles, sight words and a sound chart. There is never a need to purchase anything outside of this curriculum.  Everything is included.   I purposely made the PRIDE Reading Program the most affordable dyslexia homeschool program out there.  I want every child with dyslexia to get the opportunity to learn to read.

Give it a try and let me know how it goes!
