Workshop Highlights:
  • Teachers will be connected with meteorologists on Mount Washington through classroom instruction and experiential learning on the mountain.
  • To inspire teaches to apply Next Generation Science Standards for Weather & Climate to real-world applications. i.e. MS-ESS2-5. Collect data to provide evidence for how the motions and complex interactions of air masses results in changes in weather conditions.
Description:

A 2-day professional development program for K-12 teachers to receive instruction and training in meteorology from the staff at the Mount Washington Observatory. Teachers will learn the basics of Meteorology, History of the Mount Washington Observatory, Weather & Climate on Mt. Washington and how to perform weather observations.
