We promote optimistic thinking that can help children, adolescents, and adults respond to the challenges that are encountered on a daily basis, and to apply these skills in many contexts, including relationships with peers and family, lifelong learning, and other activities. We nurture skills that buffer against the effects of stress. We emphasize a strength-based approach to treatment that helps one to overcome their areas of vulnerability.

Introduction to equine assisted psychotherapy
Parenting: what we can learn from horses
Health at Every Size
Understanding Eating Disorders
Stop Bullying now
Support Groups:
History:
This facility has evolved out of the recognition that eating disorders have the highest mortality of all mental health conditions, and the realization that there are few resources in rural/central Wisconsin for treatment.
Testimonials:
Information from EAGALA: Equine Assisted Therapy brings together a licensed therapist, a horse professional, a horse or horses, and a patient or patients (and sometimes their family members) to address treatment goals
Participants learn about themselves and others by participating in activities with the horses, and then processing (or discussing) feelings, behaviors, and patterns.
This approach has been compared to the ropes courses used by therapists, treatment facilities, and human development courses around the world. But EAP has the added advantage of utilizing horses, which are dynamic and powerful living beings.
In contrast to the ropes, there are relational issues that develop between horses and people, and between horses and other horses, that can be important to the therapeutic process.
