Bullying is the number 2 epidemic in the US, and a serious problem elsewhere. All 50 states have legislation in place directing districts to adopt anti-bullying policies. Sadly, research is showing that these policies and the programs that accompany them are not working. They are largely reactive, and not addressing the root cause of the problem. The bullying cycle begins with rudeness or incivility, then increases to bullying, and then can escalate into violence. The challenge is to address the beginning of that cycle, which is the easiest to address.

Cool Kind Kid has been at the forefront of providing proactive, fun, music-enhanced curricula, and new retail parent/teacher products that teach kids social skills tools for bullying prevention. We support current research advocating social skills, or social competence training, at young ages, as the missing link in bullying prevention. We redefine "cool" for kids so they learn that mean, rude, and disrespectful behaviors, and bullying are uncool, and that kind, caring, and respectful behaviors are cool. As they learn that bullying is uncool, the motivation for bullying is considerably weakened. We have seen increased confidence and changed behavior as kids learn, "The KIND kid is the COOL Kid, not the bully." Kids are engaged and having fun as they embrace the positive messages of Cool Kind Kid.

The Cool Kind Kid LIVE School Assembly Program has received rave reviews. We've created a downloadable kit for your school to do the performance on your own. The kit includes script, cast and prop lists, original music with lyrics and performance/accompaniment music.
