Installer Institute’s mission is to provide an avenue for car, home and marine audio enthusiasts to become professionally trained installers. Even as a beginner, our classes are designed to train you in areas ranging from basic installation to custom fabrications and mobile security installations.
Installer Institute is dedicated to providing hands-on training for individuals, who want to become mobile, home, or marine electronics installers, work in the mobile electronics field or who wish to improve themselves in the after-market installation industry. It is our belief that an installer’s knowledge is the most valuable tool he or she can possess.
We strive to extend to our students the benefits of our philosophies of integrity, safety, and installation techniques. Installer Institute has formed an alliance with many manufacturers to achieve a common goal – the growth of professionalism in our diverse industry

School History:
HISTORY
The Installer Institute was first opened in 1992, making it one of the oldest and most well-known schools, and a facility for students to become professional installers in the mobile electronics industry. At the institute we have trained thousands of installers in both beginning and advanced hands-on courses. In order to meet the many specialty areas Installer Institute not only provides you with Basic five-week and Advanced 5-week Mobile Installation programs but also offers an immersive 23-week Comprehensive Program. Installer Institute has also hosted many advanced workshops, such as our Advanced Sound Quality Workshop taught by Dave Rivera “The Fishman”, Mark Eldridge of Mobile Soundstage Solutions, and A to Z Fabrication class taught by Zee Siddiqi from Galpin Auto-sports.
Mobile electronics certifications like the MESA, MECP and ASE A6 are advantageous to a graduate seeking employment in the field. We offer the MESA certification which encompasses not only the student’s grasp of fundamental concepts and knowledge, but also his/her mastery of a range of practical skills that are evaluated individually by the instructors. Two certification tests, the Audio Systems Installer and the Security Systems Installer are administered during the Basic and Comprehensive Programs and their cost is covered with tuition. We are also strong supporters of the Mobile Electronics Certification Program (MECP), helping with its inception in the early 90’s. We, with the assistance of an authorized MECP proctor, offer testing opportunities for, and encourage students to sit the appropriate online MECP exams at their own expense during each program.
