School Information:
Island Expeditions specializes in Belize adventure travel, offering small group trips to special places where few others travellers go...remote coral reefs, tropical rainforests, and rich indigenous cultures. Trips provide skilled instruction in outdoor activities, as well as fun, learning, and genuine interaction with the local people. No experience is necessary and trips are suitable for all levels. Island Expeditions is committed to responsible tourism, conservation, local education, supporting the Belize Zoo, the Belize Audubon Society, and local conservation initiatives. For student groups, Island Expeditions has been offering specialized programs for high schools, colleges, and universities for over 28 years.

Curriculum Highlights:
Students gain education through hands-on experience and are able to blend in elements of adventure travel and adventure sports. This combination gives educators the opportunity to achieve traditional learning outcomes in some of the most ecologically and culturally diverse areas in the world so that students are able to take away true life-changing experiences.
School Setting:
Belize, Central America: Our student trips include both an exploration of the inland ecosystems and the pristine offshore coral reef habitats. The Barrier Reef and atolls are considered one of the richest marine ecosystems on earth. While out on the Barrier Reef students learn about coral reefs and tropical marine biology at the same time as learning how to sea kayak, sail a kayak, snorkel, or fish Belizean style.
When travelling in the interior of Belize, students have the opportunity to experience tropical rainforests, savannas, wetlands, paddle on mountain clear rivers, and explore Belize’s unique cave systems. With over 600 Mayan ruins spread throughout the country, students can also experience the remarkable history of the ancient Maya.
Program Information: Island Expeditions has been operating unique educational trips in Belize for the past 28 years. To create exceptional itineraries, IE works closely with educators to develop a customized itinerary specific to the school's travel and learning objectives.
